Born in 1972 in Montreuil, son of bassist Bernard Paganotti, Antoine began playing piano at the age of 9 at the Montreuil Conservatoire, before taking up drums of his own accord at the age of 14.
He began working as a musician at 19 in 1991, first with composer-keyboardist Patrick Gauthier, then in 1999 joined the French band Magma as vocalist until 2008, with whom he took part in the albums Theusz Hamtaahk Trilogie (2001), K. A. (2004) and Ëmëhntëhtt-Rê (2009), the DVDs Mythes et Légendes: Epok II, Epok III and Epok IV released between 2006 and 2008, and dozens of concerts in Europe, the U.S. and Japan.
Leaving Magma in 2008 to concentrate on drums, he has been called upon by countless leading soloists on the historic and contemporary jazz scene, including Benny Golson, Kenny Wheeler, Denise King, Abraham Burton, Jérémy Pelt, Perico Sambeat and David Doruvska, Chris Cheek, Olivier Hutman, Gaël Horellou, Pierrick Pédron, Richard Pinhas, Jérôme Barde, Baptiste Trotignon, Pierre de Bethmann, Vincent Peirani, Yoann Loustalot, Pierre Perchaud, Christophe Panzani, David Prez, Sandro Zerafa, Thomas Curbillon, Nicolas Moreaux, Arnaud Cuisinier...
Antoine Paganotti has toured in Japan, Canada, the United States, Mexico, Russia and throughout Europe.
